Which currencies can I convert between?

You can convert between Naira, Cedis, Shillings, Rand, and US Dollars in any direction.

Can I hold a wallet in a currency I don't use locally?

Yes. You can add and hold wallets in any of our supported currencies, even if you don't live in that country. You can fund these wallets by converting from your main wallet or by selling a gift card and receiving the payment in that currency.

How do I convert between my wallets?

Open the Cardtonic app, select Convert, choose the wallet you're converting from and the wallet you're converting to, enter the amount, review the conversion, and confirm.

How long does a conversion take?

Conversions are instant. Once confirmed, the converted amount is immediately available in your destination wallet.

Are there fees for currency conversion?

No. Converting between your Cardtonic wallets is completely free.

Do I need a separate Cardtonic account for each currency?

No. All your wallets are managed from one Cardtonic account, and you can hold up to five wallets at a time.

Which wallet do I get when I sign up?

If you're in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa, you'll have your local currency wallet and a USD Wallet. If you're signing up from any other country, a USD Wallet is created for you. You can add other supported currency wallets anytime from the Cardtonic app.
